Indeed, one goal of the RPN is to connect the growth and the labor literatures to path the way for a renewed European growth agenda that fosters innovation while remaining inclusive, sustainable, and democratically anchored. The urgency of this agenda was underlined in the 2024 Draghi report. Without stronger growth, Europe risks eroding the fiscal base needed to sustain its social protections—and weakening its capacity to respond to new challenges in defence, energy security, and geopolitical competition.
